Personal statement from Dr. Hernandez
As a parent, I feel that raising our kids is one of the greatest and most important responsibilities we will ever have. Children are our enduring legacy. One of the most important decisions a parent makes is who their child's doctor will be. One of my goals as a pediatrician is to have a long-lasting, positive impact on your child and family. I want to not only provide exceptional medical care during illness and healthy development, but also be an advocate for your child in the community. I want you to feel comfortable using your "parental instincts," partnered with my encouragement, support and guidance, as you raise your child. A collaborative relationship based on trust and confidence is essential. It has been my privilege to embark on this challenging and rewarding journey with my families. Dr. Hernandez's personal bio
Dr. Hernandez grew up in a suburb of Chicago. She graduated from Loyola University in Chicago and then went on to receive her master's degree in Public Health-Epidemiology from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. Her education continued at Rush University in Chicago where she received her medical degree. Dr. Hernandez completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. She has experience working at Children's Hospital as a staff pediatrician in the Emergency Department. She lives in Caledonia, Wis., with her husband James, a general surgeon, their daughter Lila, and their enthusiastic yellow lab Niko. They are expecting their second child in October 2009.
