John Kraegel, MD

Over my 25 years taking care of children, I like working with families to choose the best course of treatment options for their child. From birth to college graduation, I realize that there is usually more than one choice for many problems. In this day and age of information from TV, newspaper and the Internet, medical decisions can be overwhelming for parents. My hope is to help parents sort through their choices.

I enjoy all aspects of pediatric care, especially prevention, which includes well child checkups and vaccinations. I'm amazed at how few of our patients end up in the hospital these days due to vaccine-preventable illnesses. Even symptoms of asthma, since we now have very good medications, inhaled and by mouth, keep children breathing well and able to attend school, play sports and enjoy routine activities.

Children grow up so quickly. My two sons are in college, which is even hard for me to believe how fast the time goes. My hope is to help parents and their children make their childhood as healthy as it can be.
