After-hours calls
Southwest Pediatrics offers an after-hours answering service to address any urgent phone calls. This service only should be used for urgent medical concerns. Non-urgent calls should be made during our regular office hours. Examples of non-urgent calls include:
- Requests for prescription refills.
- Dosing schedules for Tylenol and Motrin.
- Discussing your child's health problems that are chronic and not urgent in nature.
- General feeding questions.
- Behavioral problems.
Many common illnesses are described in our For Parents section, including helpful information about caring for your child at home.
One of our physicians is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Note that the physicians do not have access to medical charts and therefore will not call in prescription refills after hours.
To access the answering service for urgent concerns, call our office for instructions. Be prepared to provide information regarding your child's name, age, problem or concern and the telephone number where you can be reached.
Weekend calls
A nurse is available at 8 a.m. most Saturdays and Sundays to answer calls regarding urgent concerns. Call the clinic early if you would like to speak with the nurse or see if a doctor is available to see your child. Nurses generally finish taking calls by 10 a.m. most weekends.
Please contact us if you have questions about weekend calls.
Appointments
Patients are seen by appointment only. If you need to schedule an appointment for an urgent or sick visit, call us at (262) 789-6020 and choose option 3 to speak with a nurse.
If you need to schedule an appointment for a physical or sports exam, call us and choose option 2 to speak with a receptionist. Walk-in appointments will be scheduled for the next available spot, and you may be asked to come back at a later time.
Urgent Care
Children's Urgent Care sites are the area's only walk-in clinics just for kids. The Urgent Care clinics are open nights and weekends when regular doctors offices are closed. Appointments never are needed.
