Immunizations
What to expect after your child receives immunizations:
- Fever.
- Localized swelling, soreness, redness.
- Irritability.
- If given the Varicella or MMR, a child may experience a rash, which can occur from the time the shot was given, up to two weeks after the shot was received.
- Bruising.
What you can do:
- Tylenol or Ibuprofen (depending on age and weight).
- Warm compress or warm bath.
- Massage.
These are very common side effects that can last a few days. If you have any concerns, please discuss them with the doctor before leaving or call our office.
