Immunizations

What to expect after your child receives immunizations:

  • Fever.
  • Localized swelling, soreness, redness.
  • Irritability.
  • If given the Varicella or MMR, you may experience a rash, which can occur from the time the shot was given and up to two weeks after the shot was given.
  • Bruising

 What you can do: 

  • Tylenol and/or Ibuprofen (depending on age and weight).
  • Warm compress/warm bath.
  • Massage.

These are very common side effects that can last a few days. If there are any concerns, please discuss with the doctor before leaving or call our office.
