Carving a niche 

• Small children never should carve pumpkins. Children can draw a face with markers. Make sure an adult does the cutting.
• Votive candles are the safest option for candlelit pumpkins.
• Candlelit pumpkins should be placed on a sturdy table, away from curtains and other flammable objects. They should never be left unattended.
