About us
River Glen Pediatrics is comprised of two pediatricians who strive to provide high-quality care for children from infancy to young adulthood. Our physicians aim to partner with our patients and families to achieve the best possible outcomes.
For newborn care, our physicians have privileges at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee and St. Joseph's Hospital.
Our physicians also are on staff at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin should your child need inpatient hospitalization.
Office hours
River Glen Pediatrics is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are closed on weekends and holidays.
After-hours calls
There is a physician on-call to provide coverage for emergencies after 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, on weekends and holidays. When you call the office, our answering service will page the physician on-call.
For your reference, here are some guidelines to follow when contacting the on-call physician:
- You should contact the on-call physician for urgent calls that cannot wait until the office is open. Please be considerate of our physicians and remember they are not in the office when they take your call. This means the physician who returns your call will not have access to your child's medical records.
- When the physician calls you back, make sure you are near the phone and answer the phone right away. Be ready to provide your child's name, birth date, current weight, medications, past medical history, background information about current problems, allergies and a pharmacy phone number.
- Emergency after-hours calls should be reserved for serious problems such as an accident, seizures, high fevers, fevers greater than 100.4 F in infants younger than 2 months old, ingestion, breathing problems and any other emergency that you think requires immediate attention.
- Some calls can be best handled the following morning by your primary pediatrician. These problems include pink eye, diaper rash that is not spreading and has no open sores, constipation, behavioral issues and medication refills.
- Our physicians do not prescribe antibiotics over the phone.
Appointments
Please arrive on time for your appointment. New patients should arrive 15 minutes early to complete necessary paperwork. Remember to update us with any changes in your insurance providers, address and phone number.
Well child visits are conducted at 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 24 months, 30 months and 36 month. After your child turns 36 months, well child visits will be conducted annually.
Please schedule routine check-ups at least two weeks in advance. If someone other than the parent or legal guardian must bring your child in, we must have authorization on file that grants that person permission to approve any necessary treatments. A faxed or hand-written note or authorization is required before your child can be seen.
Billing and insurance
We accept most insurance plans. We will submit a claim to your insurance company on your behalf. In order for us to provide this service, we will need a copy of your insurance card. Please bring your insurance card to every visit.
If your insurance plan requires a co-payment, it must be paid at the time of service to avoid any additional administration fees. Billing statements are mailed to you monthly under the logo of Children's Medical Group. Billing questions or information regarding payment arrangements should be directed to Children's Medical Group's Central Billing Office at (414) 266-6160.

Medication refills
Please ask your pharmacy to fax a medication refill request form to River Glen Pediatrics at (414) 247-1875. If you are unsure of a medication name, call the office at (414) 247-9530 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Many prescriptions cannot be called in to the pharmacy and will need to be picked up. Please allow 24 hours for pick-up. Our physicians never prescribe antibiotics by phone. It is never appropriate to page the on-call physician for medication refills. |
