Ultraviolet (UV) safety
Keep your children safe this summer from sun exposure. Here are a few tips to protect your family from damaging UV rays:
- The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using a sunscreen with a minimum sun protection factor (SPF) of 30.
- Sunscreen should be applied 15 to 30 minutes before going outside.
- Sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours.
- Sunscreen is not recommended for children younger than 6 months old. Children this young should not be exposed to any direct sunlight.
